BigTed
One of my talents as a freelance writer is the ability to chameleon my writing to perfectly suit the company ethos, brand and writing style that my client is looking for - and I first displayed this in my work for BigTed (now known as Giant Bears). Another skillset learned and displayed in this role was enhancing the Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) and readability of the content I produced, including creating eye-catching meta titles and descriptions.

Adoring the BigTed product was really crucial for finding creative and heartfelt ways to advertise to their target audience in subtle, entertaining marketing copy without any pushy sales tactics. I am a romantic at heart, so writing articles about how to express love, celebrate family and milestones was a dream.
My contract came to its natural end while the company was going through a transitional period of rebranding to ‘Giant Bears’ and replacing their eco-friendly soft teddies with high-end luxury bear sculptures. The slight sadness of moving forward to new opportunities was outweighed by the pride I felt for the work I completed in a fulfilling position in my early career. This was a wonderful and lucrative opportunity for me and I only hope to work for clients in the future with a similar passion and enthusiasm for the products that companies champion and content that thrives.
My Published Articles For BigTed

Showcase: Stress Relief Teddy Bears
One of the most significant articles that I wrote that I was so proud of and really resonated with me personally was “Six Reasons Why Adults Can Thrive With A Stress Relief Teddy Bear”, due to my lifelong love of teddies.
I come from a family of women who love to own comfort teddies, so for me, this article delved into generational coping mechanisms for adult life. I genuinely use stress relief teddies daily to improve my quality of life.
While I am very social and I love being with friends and meeting new people, I am naturally shy and I deal with anxiety and a lot of overthinking in day to day life. A technique that I have genuinely used for almost three years is carrying a small teddy with me that fits in the palm of my hand or my coat pocket wherever I go; having something soothing as a fidget toy in public spaces has massively decreased my anxiety when attending social gatherings. Writing this article particularly was so important and validating to me, to finally articulate why the stigma and shame of adults owning teddy bears can be so detrimental and how stuffed toys bring joy to children and adults regardless of age.
